I started at Bluth in the Clean-up department working on Rock-A-Doodle. It was my first foray into feature film animation after working on several television and commercial projects. The environment at Bluth was one where I could continue to learn about animation while working in Clean-up.

After Rock-A-Doodle was completed I did several animation tests and was eventually promoted to Animator. My first film was A Troll in Central Park. I worked on a few crowd scenes and finally got to complete a couple of shots of the main characters. They were action shots of the two main kids and some flowers running.
Next up was Thumbelina. I animated about 20 shots in this one including several dialogue shots of the main characters. This was a wonderful experience mostly because I got to learn directly from John Pomeroy, one of my favorite animators.
I also did clean-up animation on a couple of theme park attractions. Moon Princess was for a Japanese theme park and was animated in wide screen and the Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera was for a motion simulator ride. That project allowed me to work on classic Hanna Barbera characters like the Jetsons, Flintstones and Scooby-Doo.
I worked as an animator at Bluth until the studio shut down while we were in production on the Pebble and the Penguin.
